WATCH: Former Obama Official Storms Out of MSNBC Interview, Doesn’t Want to Deal With ‘Bull**** People’
Craig Fugate, the Administrator of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) under Barack Obama, stormed out of an interview with MSNBC’s Katy Tur, explaining he doesn’t “have time to listen to bull**** people.” Which begs the question: Why were you on that network to begin with? Fugate was part of a discussion alongside Tur and former Acting Administrator of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, Andy Slavitt, another Obama-era official. A Tense Scene Fugate and Slavitt were discussing the level of federal government involvement in handling the coronavirus. Fugate stated that governors need to act on their own and “the best way the federal government can support [them] is to get out of their way” and “get them funding.” Slavitt disagreed, suggesting a better partnership between state and federal government is the key. And the sparks flew … Former FEMA Administrator Craig Fugate just walked off MSNBC: “I don’t have time to listen to bullshit people.” pic.twitter.com/m01JDIUrrl — Emily Jashinsky (@emilyjashinsky) March 19, 2020 RELATED: Whoa! Did Ilhan Omar Just Praise President Trump’s ‘Unprecedented’ Leadership? Ain’t Nobody Got Time Slavitt’s comments dismissing Fugate as “your other guest” and suggesting he was “not helpful” was all it took for the former Obama official to hightail it out of the interview. “With all due respect to your other guest, there’s not a governor in the country that’s waiting for the federal government right now,” Slavitt claimed. “So, what your other guest is suggesting here is not helpful. We need a great partnership between the federal and state government.” “I don’t have time to listen to bulls*** people,” Fugate declared. A flustered Tur asked, “Craig, you want to sit down and respond to this?” “I guess Craig has left,” she noted. “Andy, he doesn’t agree with you at all.” Wow. One of @KatyTurNBC’s guests, ex-FEMA administrator Craig Fugate, walked off the set after @ASlavitt criticized what he’d just said re PPE supplies. He muttered “I don’t have time to listen to bullshit, people” as he pulled out his IFB and stormed off. — Andrew Feinberg (@AndrewFeinberg) March 19, 2020 RELATED: CNN Contributor Rick Wilson Suggests Melania Trump Should ‘Be Infected’ With Coronavirus Governors Have Praised Trump’s Response It bears repeating that numerous state governors – including those presiding over deeply blue states – have had very good things to say about the federal government response to the coronavirus. California Governor Gavin Newsom praised the President’s actions noting “every single thing he said, they followed through on.” New York Governor Andrew Cuomo said the administration was “on it” when it came to their coronavirus response and that the President was doing the “right thing.” And New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy recently told President Trump, “Thank you for everything.” The post WATCH: Former Obama Official Storms Out of MSNBC Interview, Doesn’t Want to Deal With ‘Bull**** People’ appeared first on The Political Insider.
