By now you’ve likely heard the news that on Monday, the FBI showed up to Donald Trump’s for-profit resort/private residence, Mar-a-Lago, and executed a search warrant. Naturally, the former president was apoplectic about the situation, raging that the place was “under siege,” that the search was akin to Watergate, and that the whole thing was indicative of the U.S. having turned into a “third world” country. (He appeared to be most distressed about the fact that the Feds had looked inside his safe.) Also beside themselves about the event were two of his adult children and their significant others, who fanned out on cable news and social media to decry the fact that, after a lifetime of essentially never facing repercussions for anything, Donald “When you’re a star, they let you do it” Trump seemingly can no longer violate whatever laws he wants with impunity. Which, obviously, is deeply upsetting to them.

On Twitter, Donald Trump Jr. hysterically tweeted: “Biden’s out of control DOJ is ripping this country apart with how they’re openly targeting their political enemies. This is what you see happen in 3rd World Banana Republics!!!” (Actually, Israel indicted its prime minister in 2019 on an array of corruption charges, while France’s former president was sentenced to a year of house arrest in 2021 after being found guilty of illegal campaign financing.) Shortly after, his fiancée, Kimberly Guilfoyle, chimed in, writing: “The FBI raid of Mar-a-Lago is a continuation of the left’s endless & unlawful persecution of President Trump. The failed Biden Regime will do anything to try to distract the American people from the fact that their policies are DESTROYING our nation.”

On Fox News, Eric Trump whined to Sean Hannity, “Sean, my father never got so much as a speeding ticket in his life, you know, until he made one decision, and that’s to go down the escalators of Mar-a-Lago and spend a lot of money and go and actually fight for this country for the first time, and he did a better job than anybody has ever done. And they started coming after him.” Which, to be clear, is not the same thing as never having committed any crimes or broken any laws; it just means that Eric’s dad was previously able to get away with everything, like, for example, committing “outright fraud” in the 1990s, according to The New York Times; scamming students at his fake university, for which he would later pay a $25 million settlement; and using his charity as a political slush fund, which is why the thing was shut down, Trump was ordered to fork over $2 million, and Eric, Don Jr., and Ivanka Trump, as directors of the foundation, were ordered to take remedial classes to learn how to not rip off the needy.

Anyway, Eric continued: “The Washington Post, the day he won, 2016, the day he won, November 8, that night they wrote an article: This is when impeachment begins,” the younger Trump said. “He wasn’t president. He hadn’t been elected for, you know, five minutes at that point. And they start: This is when impeachment begins. And then he’s impeached the first time, and then he was impeached the second time. They slandered him and they belittled him. They went after them, they went after all of us.” Of course, Trump was impeached “the first time” because he tried to extort Ukraine and get its president to dig up dirt on his political rival. He was impeached “the second time” because he incited a violent riot—which left multiple people dead—in an attempt to overturn the results of a free and fair election. But Eric wasn’t finished.

“There’s no family in American history that has taken more arrows in the back than the Trump family, every single time,” the former first son insisted, apparently forgetting that two Kennedys were literally assassinated. “All they want to do is they want to get Donald Trump…and they do it for one reason: because they don’t want Donald Trump to run and win again in 2024.… To have 30 FBI agents, actually more than that, descend on Mar-a-Lago, give absolutely no notice, go through the gates, start ransacking an office, ransacking a closet. You know, they broke into a safe—he didn’t even have anything in the safe. I mean, give me a break. And this is coming from what? The National Archives? Yet, you know, Hunter Biden, he did firearms crimes, prostitution, illegal drugs, shady deals with everybody around the world—and by the way, it’s all on his laptop for the whole world to see, in his own writing, in his own words, corroborated by everybody. Where are these FBI agents? Where is everybody? Why is it that the arrows only fly at Donald Trump and his family? Why is it that the political persecution only goes one way in this country?”

Rosie O’Donnell regrets making fun of Anne Heche for a previous TV interview the actress did many years ago.

The comedian said she “felt bad” for the jokes she cracked about Heche, who at the time spoke about her apparent relationships with aliens with renowned US journalist Barbara Walters  

However, with Heche now fighting for her life in a coma after suffering severe burns after crashing her car in LA, O’Donnell said her past comments were out of line.

“I can’t stop thinking about this Anne Heche accident and how horrifying the whole thing is and feeling bad that I made fun of her when she was talking to Barbara Walters about having a relationship with space aliens,” O’Donnell said in a TikTok video. 

“I wonder if she’s OK. I think it’s a miracle that she didn’t kill anyone … and I hope she survives. But wow, what a tragic tale. That car was on fire for a long time, they say.”

The interview in question was the one Heche gave ABC program 20/20, during which she told Walters she created a persona named Celestia to help her cope after she was allegedly sexually molested by her father when she was younger.

“I’m not crazy. But it’s a crazy life. I was raised in a crazy family and it took 31 years to get the crazy out of me,” Heche told the journalist at the time.

“I had a fantasy world that I escaped to. I called my other personality Celestia. I believed I was from that world. I believed I was from another planet. I think I was insane.”

O’Donnell then mocked Heche during a charity benefit held at Carolines Comedy Club in New York the following year.

“What the hell kind of train wreck was that?” the comedian asked the crowd, before also poking fun of Heche’s sexuality and former relationship with Ellen DeGeneres. 

“She couldn’t just say, ‘I was a lesbian for two years, it didn’t work out for me?’”

Heche is currently in critical condition as she fights for her life following a car crash over the weekend, leaving her with severe burns. A representative for the star has told Page Six the actress has since fallen unconscious and slipped into a coma.

“Shortly after the accident, Anne Heche became unconscious, slipping into a coma,” her spokesperson told the outlet. “She has a significant pulmonary injury requiring mechanical ventilation and burns that require surgical intervention.”

Queens supporting queens! Beyoncé expressed her deep appreciation for Madonna after the duo released their new single “Break My Soul (The Queens Remix)” on Friday.

Madonna, 63, took to her Instagram Story on Tuesday, August 8, to share a heartfelt note the “Halo” singer, 40, sent her along with a bouquet of flowers.

“Thank you, Queen. I’m so grateful for you,” the message read. “You have opened so many doors for so many women. You are a masterpiece genius. Thank you for allowing me to sing in your song and thank you for naming the remix!!!! Love always and forever, B.”

Madonna, for her part, subsequently thanked the former Destiny’s Child member for the gesture, captioning the picture, “❤️❤️thank you!! from one 👑 to another 👑. I love the Re-Mix! @beyonce ❤️❤️,” before sharing a second snap of the flowers, which included lilies and white roses.

Beyoncé’s latest remix — which is her fifth collaboration for the song — samples Madonna’s hit pop anthem “Vogue,” while paying tribute to legendary Black female artists, including Aretha Franklin and Diana Ross.

Following the release of Renaissance in July, the Texas native took to social media to thank her fans for their unfaltering loyalty.

“Thank you for your unwavering support,” she wrote via Instagram at the time. “Thank you for being patient. We are going to take out time and Enjoy the music. I will continue to give my all and do my best to bring you joy. I Love You Deep.”

While the record quickly earned both fan and critical acclaim, it has also garnered its fair share of controversy. One day prior to the album’s release, Kelis claimed that the “Formation” singer used a sample of her 2003 hit “Milkshake” without permission.

“My mind is blown too because the level of disrespect and utter ignorance of all 3 parties involved is astounding,” the New York native said via Instagram at the time. “I heard about this the same way everyone else did. Nothing is ever as it seems, some of the people in this business have no soul or integrity and they have everyone fooled.”

While Beyoncé has seemingly since removed the sample, the album, which is the “Crazy In Love” artist’s seventh studio release, once again came under fire when fans began to criticize the Dreamgirls star for using the word “spazz” in her song “Heated” — a slang term derived from the word “spastic” and considered to be derogatory toward people with spastic cerebral palsy.

The “Single Ladies” singer, however, quickly responded to the feedback, making the necessary changes. “The word, not used intentionally in a harmful way, will be replaced,” read an August 1 statement from the songwriter’s team. However, Monica Lewinsky also asked the Grammy Award winner to alter lyrics from her song “Partition,” which name drops the anti-bullying advocate, 49, referencing her affair with Bill Clinton.

“Uhmm, while we’re at it… #Partition,” Lewinsky tweeted in August, in response to the news that “Heated” would eliminate the ablest slur.
