During his open workout, he told fans watching via live stream: “Guillotine, that’s legal, right?

“Can I choke Jake? I know a lot of people wanna see that.

“One of you guys can start a GoFundMe – how much would you give me to choke Jake out with a guillotine choke?

“And if the number’s bigger than my purse, maybe I’ll do it, you never know!”

Brief video has now emerged of Askren sparring at Freddie Roach’s gym in preparation for Saturday’s fight.

It has not filled those rooting for him with confidence.

In the video, Askren is sharing the ring with veteran contender Gabriel Rosado, but seems to lack speed and fundamentals.

Some have even suggested that the clip looks so bad it must have been released as a deliberate red herring to mislead Paul.

Either way, the truth will emerge on Saturday night.
