Stipe Miocic was all smiles despite losing his UFC heavyweight title to Francis Ngannou in devastating fashion.

The Cleveland-native was stopped in the second round of the main event at UFC 260 as Ngannou dropped several powerful bombs which detonated in stunning fashion.

Having been dropped by a stiff jab in the Apex, Miocic exchanged leather and was caught in a fire fight which ended with him sprawled on the canvas.

Immediately after the bout, he was transported from the Apex to a hospital in Las Vegas and did not speak to the media after the bout.

Despite the alarming nature of the defeat, Ryan Miocic has posted an update on her husband from his hospital bed and confirmed there is no need to fret about the 38-year-old.

She wrote on Instagram: “He’s alright, still my hero!”

Miocic remains one of the greatest heavyweights to ever compete in the UFC and still shares the record for the most title defences (6), despite falling short of breaking that on Saturday night.

Having avenged his 2018 defeat to Daniel Cormier on two separate occasions, it remains to be seen if the fire fighter still has the drive and the desire to reclaim his heavyweight title.

With Jon Jones and Derrick Lewis seemingly next in line, Miocic would probably have to return to fighting contenders just to enter the consideration for a third fight with Ngannou.
