In what has been an incredible Serie A campaign, Inter are in control of a fascinating title race thanks to Lukaku’s 17 goals, which is more than anyone else in the division.

His latest strike was an outstanding solo effort in a 3-0 victory over arch rivals Milan on Sunday, showcasing all of the Belgian’s devastating talent, which was only seen in glimpses at Chelsea and Manchester United.

Chelsea gave up on the striker when he was just 21, while Man United sold him to Inter in 2019 for £75million, just two years after his £90m move to Old Trafford.

However, the Belgium star does not hold a grudge towards his former clubs despite the rejection.

Asked about his feelings towards Chelsea, Lukaku told his Twitter followers: “Nothing but love. They gave me an opportunity to come to the
Premier League as a kid. You can’t have everything in life and i’m cool with that. I’m glad that experience got me to where I am today.”

And when asked about his feelings towards Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who moved him out wide and gave him less game time towards the end of his Red Devils career, Lukaku’s answer was similarly positive.

He said: “He is doing great. You guys have to know I love him as a manager and as a person and I wish him nothing but the best.”
