Olivia Jade Discusses Feeling “Publicly Shamed” For College Admissions Scandal

Olivia Jade Giannulli opened up about feeling publicly shamed for her parents’ involvement in the college admissions scandal.

The fellow posted a video on TikTok as she shared a message with her followers. She says a “very inspirational woman” had told her the message that she is going to share. Olivia shared that they were talking about being publicly shamed and she expressed her thoughts. She said, “We were talking about being publicly shamed, and I was like, ‘Well, my situation doesn’t even compare, I’m not even going to start to compare it to yours.’ “

Giannulli continued as she added that the woman looked at her and said it doesn’t matter if she is drowning in 60 feet of water. She said, “And she looked at me and said, ‘Olivia, it doesn’t matter if I’m drowning in 60 feet of water and you’re drowning in 30, we’re both still drowning.’ “

Olivia further shared that she thinks about that quote every day because she thinks it’s true. She added that it is such a bigger message in our world at the moment. Giannulli continued, “I think we’re all very quick to judge. I think we’re all very quick to put people down.”

Olivia explained that she wants people to remember if they have their feelings hurt that if they are valid to you then it matters. She said, “I just want people to remember, if your feelings are hurting, if they’re valid to you, they’re valid. It doesn’t matter if someone is going through worse.”

“I just want a second chance…”

The YouTuber further added that people are allowed to have a hard time in this world. However, she said that does not take away from somebody else and that should not take anything from anyone. She further said, “We’re all human beings.”

Olivia had captioned the video writing that she loves this message and wished everybody to have a beautiful day. She has been pretty active on social media after making her return back in January. This was after her mother, Lori Loughlin’s release from federal prison in December.

Lori and her husband, Mossimo Giannulli were both sentenced to prison last year. this was after they were pleaded guilty to the charges against them in the scandal. Olivia has previously opened up about the issue as she appeared on Red Table Talk. She told hosts Jada Pinkett Smith and Willow Smith that she wants to move on and move forward.

Olivia had said that she is not trying to victimize herself and she doesn’t want pity. She shared that she does not deserve pity and that they messed up. The YouTuber further expressed that she wants a second chance. She said, “I just want a second chance to be like, ‘I recognize I messed up.’ I never got to say, ‘I’m really sorry that this happened,’ or ‘I really own that this was a big mess-up on everybody’s part,’ but I think everybody feels that way in my family right now.”

Olivia apologized for her family’s behavior as she said it is embarrassing within itself that she walked around her whole 20 years of life not realizing. She shared the “insane” privilege she had is something she was unaware of. “You’re like the poster child of white privilege and you had no idea,” she shared.

Since her release from prison, Loughlin has been focused on spending time with her family, a source recently revealed. She was reportedly very focused at the time on finishing up the court-ordered community service. The mother said she will continue to be involved in charity because she always enjoyed doing charity work.

The source added that Loughlin “can’t wait” to welcome home her husband, who is expected to be released on April 17.
